    improving market

APPLETON, WI: April 4, 2013 - Valley Home Builders Association (VHBA) announced the National Association of Home Builders/First American Improving Markets Index (IMI) released today again lists Appleton as an improving market for housing. The index identifies metropolitan areas that have shown improvement in housing permits, employment and house prices for at least six consecutive months following the respective troughs in those measures. Read the full press release here.

In response to VHBA's promotion of New Homes Month and Appleton's continued listing on NAHB's Improving Market Index, local media outlets have been picking up association press releases and running stories. The improving housing market was mentioned in an online news post by The Post-Crescent last Friday (April 5); VHBA and the market were the lead story on NBC-26's 5:00 and 10:00 p.m. news on Sunday (April 7); on Monday (April 8), WHBY radio ran a short news item about the increase in housing starts, and today (April 11), this topic was the focus of The Post-Crescent's online "newsmakers" series.

WBA President Craig Rakowski, James Craig Builders (Wauwatosa), and VHBA Executive Vice President Christine Shaefer were featured in a 21-minute Post-Crescent webcast, airing live this morning and archived online at:
